World guide · 16,384 × 16,384 units

The background stays in the world—and responds when bodies pass.

BWORM's arena is authored in world coordinates rather than attached to the camera. Traveling reveals different regions while environmental systems respond locally to movement and reinforce the scale of the map.

Live gameplay: the colossal background creature establishes scale above the traversable organic arena.

Persistent space

A square world with room for changing risk.

The active ground dimension is 16,384 units per side. That size allows the density and danger of a route to change as players travel instead of presenting the same decorative field behind every camera position. Food, creatures and environmental details occupy the arena's coordinate system.

A larger world does not automatically make every edge useful. Route quality still comes from nearby food, visible exits, rival movement and the amount of body that must clear a turn. Use the cursor direction marker to plan through the space currently visible, then reassess as the camera reveals more.

Reactive systems

Movement leaves a visual consequence.

Water

Reactive black water

Passing bodies disturb the dark surface with wakes. Falling droplets create contained circular ripples at their own impact positions.

Foliage

Leaves and branches

Nearby passage displaces large organic forms, which settle through damped motion instead of snapping immediately to rest.

Scale

Colossal creature

A giant background organism follows authored world routes and interacts visually with water and vegetation as it passes.

Competitive clarity

The environment informs; gameplay decides.

Reactive water, foliage and background motion provide direction, atmosphere and a sense of local activity, but they are visual readers rather than hidden authorities. Competitive state—movement, mass, score, mutation effects and collisions—remains governed by the gameplay systems.

This separation prevents a displaced leaf or wake effect from becoming an invisible hitbox. It also lets environmental scale remain expressive without changing the rules from one visual region to another.

Route reading

Treat motion as context, not certainty.

A recent wake or moving branch can suggest that a body passed nearby, but the safe response is still to preserve turning room and keep the head out of blind intersections. The colossal creature belongs to the background layer; its purpose is to establish scale and environmental life, not to become a secret competitive obstacle.

For the movement economy used to cross the map, continue with growth and boost.
