Understand the arena before it surrounds you.

The BWORM Knowledge Base documents the systems that shape every run: cursor-led movement, mass-driven growth, tactical boost, ten authored species, twelve mutations and a world that reacts to the creatures crossing it.

Six guides, one connected rule set.

BWORM is a free multiplayer worm arena played directly in a modern browser. The immediate objective is simple: collect food, grow, protect your head and use your body position to influence the routes available to rivals. The depth comes from how growth changes scale, how boost converts mass into speed, and how mutation choices reshape the risks you can take.

System identity

Species define the body. Mutations define the plan.

Species are not simple color swaps. Their silhouettes and surfaces range from fibrous plant tissue and overlapping scales to translucent electricity, articulated crimson legs, basalt fissures, compacted snow and a horned bull head. Strategy is layered on separately through mutation choices, so the visual body and the tactical build remain readable as distinct systems.

The arena is authored in persistent world space. Black water, foliage and a colossal background creature react visually to movement, reinforcing scale without becoming the authority for collisions or competitive state.

Quick answers

Before entering the arena.

Is BWORM free to play?

Yes. The multiplayer arena can be opened in a modern web browser without installing a separate game client.

Do species and mutations mean the same thing?

No. Species determine the authored creature presentation. Mutations alter tactical properties such as boost economy, collection reach, body width, zone pressure and escape behavior.

Why does boost leave food behind?

Boost spends mass over time. The trail makes that cost visible in the world and creates an opportunity that other creatures can collect.
